Disputes on CryptoGigs
When to Open a Dispute
You should open a dispute when:
The seller delivered work that doesn't match the gig descriptionThe seller missed the delivery deadline and isn't communicatingThe buyer is unresponsive after deliveryThere's a disagreement about the quality or scope of workHow the Dispute Process Works
Either party opens a dispute — provide a reason and detailed explanationAn arbitrator is assigned — a CoinExchange moderator reviews the caseBoth parties provide evidence — use the order chat to share screenshots, files, and explanationsArbitrator decides — the arbitrator can:Release funds to the seller (if work was satisfactory)Refund the buyer (if work was not delivered or unsatisfactory)Split the funds (partial refund)Resolution is final — the 2-of-3 multisig ensures the arbitrator's decision is enforcedThe 2-of-3 Multisig Advantage
The escrow requires 2 of 3 signatures (buyer, seller, arbitrator):
Normal completion: Buyer + Seller agree → funds releasedDispute - seller wins: Seller + Arbitrator agree → funds go to sellerDispute - buyer wins: Buyer + Arbitrator agree → funds returned to buyerThis ensures no single party can steal funds.
